What is the best shampoo for mostly white dog?

Is Hartz LIVING Groomer's Best Whitener Shampoo any good? I have Beagle/Basset Hound mix and he has the face marking like a beagle but the rest of him is white and freckle spots. He hard to keep clean.What is the best shampoo for mostly white dog?
There are shampoos for white dogs that makes them sparkle. You can find it at most pet stores. Whatever you do please don't use people shampoo it can irritate their skin.What is the best shampoo for mostly white dog?
Any kind of dog shampoo would be fine for a white dog.
I actually do not recommend anything by hartz. There are many cases where pet owners have used their products on their pets and they have bad reactions to them. Hartz Mountain Corp. manufactures a product known as ';Flea %26amp; Tick Drops Plus,'; an anti-flea remedy which is applied to the animal's back, like Frontline or Advantage. The difference is that Frontline and Advantage use a much newer chemical, which DOES NOT HURT the animal. Hartz uses phenothrin which --- according to my vet --- has been around for 50 years, is not nearly as effective, and can be toxic. Cats apparently are much more likely to be sensitive than dogs. So as you can see I don't support this comapny at all. I believe they produce cheap poisonous products to appeal to the lower income group and banking on their ignorance. I can't see why the employees like working for a company that makes a profit on killing animlas? Horrible...absoluteley horrible... Just read the stories archive of pet owners on the page link below on what happened to them. Its so sad. :(





What I do recommend for a dog with white coloring is Sno Sho by Tomlyn. It removes ugly stains, whitens without bleach, and will also lightens the brownish parts and other colors too. I posted a pic on the other link below.

It is true that white dogs are harder to keep clean. Most shampoo should help him be cleaner. You have to realize that he is going to play in the mud and get dirty. Just give him a bath when he needs it and let him be a dog. :-)

I work in a dog grooming shop, and we use several different brands of blue whiteners. All of them are equally good. If you let the lather sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing, it really makes them sparkle! Be sure to ALWAYS follow the directions!


I have a pit bull that is mostly white with brown markings, and the whitening shampoos do wonders for her. They make her white areas really white, and make her brown areas shine!


Any dog that has white hair is hard to keep clean, mostly because it's more noticeable than on dogs with darker hair. The best thing you can do is bathe him often.
There are some shampoo's that specialised in white dogs and horses. Try a equestrian shop or a dog shop, dog shampoo's are better as they don't run the risk of irritating the skin.
